CNN is going for the kill against Donald Trump.
They think the impeachment inquiry will finally get him booted from office.
But CNN is reeling after Fox News told the devastating truth about impeachment.
Sean Hannity and other Fox News hosts pointed out that the impeachment inquiry has been a “disaster” for Democrats.
The Democrats’ star witnesses were either recounting second and third-hand information regarding Trump’s Ukrainian foreign policy, or that they’ve never even met with Trump.
The Democrats haven’t delivered a smoking gun, only smoke.
And the American people aren’t buying it.
Despite a nonstop media blitz, favorability for impeachment has declined among voters.
Lo and behold, voters care more about the substantive issue that Trump is addressing.
However, CNN is all-in on impeachment.
They added impeachment experts to the analyst staff because they think this is the issue that will finally reverse the results of the 2016 election.
“Reliable Sources” host Brian Stelter lamented the fact that Fox News called out impeachment for what it is.
Stelter said on his CNN show, “And ultimately, it hurts all of us because it makes it impossible to have a debate about the facts, the substance that’s at stake. When they are saying these hearings are boring or bogus, they’re ignoring the constitutional issues at play.”
It’s laughable that Stelter is blaming people on the right for not taking impeachment seriously when it was Stelter that remarked the hearings were like a Netflix show.
Even former CNN colleague Soledad O’Brien called out Stelter for his ridiculous comparison.
Stelter’s talk of a Netflix production exposed this impeachment inquiry for what it is – an exciting thriller series for the media class.
Big media loves the theatricality of the whole enterprise.
CNN will do anything to prop up its sagging ratings.
The cable news channel is perpetually a distant third behind Fox News and MSNBC, often clocking in behind History Channel reruns.
CNN has become one of the hives for #TheResistance.
Some of the most extreme anti-Trump voices either work for the network or are given a platform there.
For example, Stelter recently sat idly by when one of the panelists on his show said that Trump would be responsible for more deaths than Hitler, Stalin, and Mao.
Stelter blamed his indifference to the asinine statement on a technical error, explaining that he didn’t hear the remark.
Nobody believes that excuse, just like everything else on the network.
They irreparably damaged their brand.
They even had to fire journalists for getting a Trump story so wrong, it exposed them to potential litigation.
In Stelter’s whiny rant about Fox News, he brought up the “constitutional issues at play.”
The truth is, the president gets to set his own foreign policy agenda, and requiring a country to clean up corruption is a standard request for military aid.
The Democrats are trying to twist that into something nefarious, but most people just aren’t buying it.
The field of 2020 Democrats is so weak, impeachment may be their only chance at stopping Trump from becoming a two-term President.
And deep down, people like Stelter know it.
