Something is going on at Fox News.
Many viewers are noticing a change in the network’s programming.
And now Fox News left Trump feeling betrayed after this major programming change.
All the cable and broadcast networks broke into their regular programming to televise Robert Mueller’s public remarks officially closing his two-year long rigged witch hunt into President Trump.
Mueller largely restated the conclusions from his report, but Mueller’s unethical and unprofessional performance allowed fake news networks like CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS and NBC to ratchet up calls for Trump’s impeachment because Mueller did not “exonerate” him.
Millions of viewers turned to Fox News for a fair and balanced assessment of Mueller’s attack on democratic norms.
Instead they hear anti-Trump rants that were indistinguishable from the hatred and venom regularly spewed on CNN.
Fox News “Special Report” host Bret Baier appeared on “America’s Newsroom” and echoed CNN and the Democrat Party’s anti-Trump talking points.
Baier’s main takeaway from Mueller’s statement was that Donald Trump and Attorney General William Barr were liars.
“This was not – as the president says time and time again – no collusion, no obstruction,” Bair exclaimed.
“He said specifically if they had found that the president did not commit a crime on obstruction, they would have said that, and then went into specific details about the DOJ policy and why they couldn’t move forward with anything else than their decision,” Baier continued.
The real takeaway from Mueller’s shameful performance was that Mueller was a maniacal political hack who took on the role of special prosecutor to carry out an anti-Trump crusade.
Mueller showed his true colors when he again repeated the un-American assertion that Donald Trump must prove his innocence.
“As set forth in our report, after that investigation, if we had confidence that the President clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said that,” Mueller explained to the press.
That is not how investigations in America work.
There is no such legal standard as “exonerated.”
And prosecutors do not declare subjects of investigations “did not commit a crime” because everyone is entitled to a presumption of innocence.
Ironically, Mueller made a point of stating that the Russian intelligence agents he indicted for carrying out email hacks during the 2016 election were entitled to be judged as innocent until proven guilty.
Mueller did not extend this same basic courtesy to the President of the United States.
That was the real story.
But Fox News glossed over it during its daytime coverage.
Many conservatives suspect Fox News anchors are trying to virtue signal to their liberal critics.
Liberal media outlets pummeled Fox News for months with accusations of serving “state TV” for the Trump administration as well as advertisers’ boycotts.
So anchors like Baier parroting left-wing talking points could be a network-wide strategy to get liberals to call off the dogs and end the sponsor boycotts that threaten Fox News Channel’s bottom line.
We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
