MSNBC is the leading far-left news outlet in America today.
But the network is now under fire by someone they least expected.
And it’s all because of a botched attempt to throw one top Trump challenger under the bus.
MSNBC has reigned as one of the leading far-left news networks in America for years.
Alongside CNN, MSNBC has developed a reputation for being one of the most extreme anti-Trump networks that regularly covers American politics.
But while MSNBC has earned a loyal following from Democrats over the years thanks to their blatantly biased reporting and relentless attacks against President Trump, it hasn’t made the network immune to criticism from the far-left.
And after MSNBC tried to throw one major Democratic presidential contender under the bus, all hell broke loose.
The Daily Mail reports, “John Cusack has called for a boycott of MSNBC over its coverage of Bernie Sanders, saying the network is ‘smearing a people’s movement’ with a socialist agenda.”
“The Illinois-born actor, 53, was angered by MSNBC’s coverage of the 2020 candidate and tweeted a montage of guests and presenters criticizing the New-York born Senator.
The two-minute video posted by Cusack showed several MSNBC personalities and guests criticizing Sanders’ policies with one comparing his supporters to Donald Trump voters.”
This is a disaster for MSNBC.
They’ve built themselves up by marketing to a far-left audience.
And now their own base is beginning to destroy itself.
For MSNBC, their relentless attacks against President Trump are now starting to backfire horrendously.
Not only are Trump supporters completely turned off from whatever the network has to say, but Bernie Sanders’ supporters are also now souring on the far-left network.
What’s more, other Democratic presidential candidates are locked in a bitter fight with the network as well.
“The hashtag #BoycottMSNBC was used by some social media users last week, after 2020 Democratic candidate Andrew Yang also criticized the network. He demanded an apology from MSNBC before listing of a number of complaints he had with the channel over its coverage of his presidential campaign,” adds the Daily Mail.
Yang himself slammed MSNBC for their biased reporting against his campaign.
“They’ve omitted me from their graphics 12+ times, called me John Yang on air, and given me a fraction of the speaking time over 2 debates despite my polling higher than other candidates on stage. At some point you have to call it,” said Yang.
Yang and Sanders combined hold a significant chunk of the Democratic primary electorate.
And if their supporters stop watching or listening to MSNBC, the financial implications could be devastating.
With the recent blow-up involving both campaigns, the network is now getting very close to losing a large amount of their own viewership.
Only time will tell what the implications of this split could be, but for one of the largest left-wing networks in America, it’s almost certainly going to be negative.
