Robert Mueller once again turned Washington upside down.
The special counsel refuses to let go of his obsession with impeaching Donald Trump.
But Mueller confessed one mind-blowing secret that will change everything you think.
One March 24, 2019 Attorney General William Barr released a four page document revealing the top line conclusions of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
Mueller found no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and Mueller also declined to bring any obstruction of justice charges against the President.
In mid-April, Attorney General Barr released a lightly redacted version of the Mueller report.
In the intervening three weeks, the fake news media ran wild with accusations that Barr “covered up” Mueller’s true findings on the President.
To put these conspiracy theories to bed, Attorney General Barr testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The night before the Attorney General’s testimony, someone leaked a March 27 letter Mueller wrote to Barr whining about the media coverage of the Attorney General’s March 24th announcement of no collusion and no obstruction charges.
“The summary letter the Department sent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of March 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this office’s work and conclusions,” Mueller whined. “There is now public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Department appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations.”
Mueller did not dispute the accuracy of what Attorney General Barr released to the public.
The special counsel’s complaint was that the media coverage was not negative enough.
Prosecutors put things in writing for one reason: to a trail of evidence.
Mueller wrote this letter for the express purpose of leaking it.
His true purpose was a message to what he thought were his allies in the fake news media.
Mueller was enraged that – for once – they accurately reported the news that Mueller cleared Trump of collusion and did not charge him with obstruction of justice.
The special counsel expected that members of the anti-Trump press would revert to their default state of seeing it as their job to take a given set of facts and spin it in the worse way for Donald Trump.
So-called “journalists” got the message loud and clear.
“Reporters” picked up on Mueller’s letter and made it seem like Mueller accused Attorney General Barr of misleading the American people and that Mueller actually found criminal behavior on behalf of the President.
The Washington Post – which broke this story – did not mention until the 13th paragraph of a 29 paragraph story – that Robert Mueller admitted nothing Barr reported about the special counsel’s findings was inaccurate.
The fake news “paper” also published a misleading headline of “Mueller complained that Barr’s letter did not capture ‘context’ of Trump probe” that omitted the crucial details that Mueller did accuse Attorney General Barr of misrepresenting his findings and that Mueller’s complaint was the liberal media coverage did not hammer President Trump hard enough.
We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
