The so-called mainstream media is rotting from the inside out.
They’ve completely destroyed their credibility in their crusade against Donald Trump and the Republicans.
And one Fox News host ripped the New York Times for the cowardly thing they did.
The “failing” New York Times is no longer a newspaper.
They have now become an activist organization.
That became abundantly clear when the radical leftists within the organization staged a coup against op-ed editor James Bennett for publishing an opinion piece from Arkansas senator Tom Cotton.
Bennett asked Cotton if he would write a piece on whether the military should be deployed to quash the rioting and looting in wake of the George Floyd protests.
Cotton’s op-ed was particularly germane with local governments talking about defunding police departments – an approach that would only add fuel to the fire.
The New York Times grovelled to the “woke” radicals within the organization and now the radicals own it.
Fox News host Chris Wallace was disgusted by the entire fiasco.
During an interview with Fox News’s Howard Kurtz, Wallace called the Times’s actions “a profile in a lack of courage.”
Kurtz asked Wallace, “Is journalism becoming more intolerant? I mean, ten or twenty years ago, would we have seen the publisher of The New York Times completely flipping and criticizing a conservative op-ed that he had defended because a bunch of newsroom staffers didn’t like it?”
The short answer is “no.”
The Times has published op-eds from the Taliban, Venezuelan socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro, Turkish dictator Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Vladimir Putin, and other controversial figures.
Wallace responded, “It feels like the inmates are running the asylum. You know, I’ve been critical sometimes of the Times, and I think that their liberal tendency tends to bleed out onto their news coverage…but I thought that what happened in the last week at the Times was just extraordinary.”
The New York Times may still have the air of credibility, but they are now a left-wing activist organization masquerading as a newspaper.
Radical Times’ writer Hannah Nikole-Jones won a Pulitzer Prize for her fraudulent bit of history in the 1619 Project, so the entire media landscape has been corrupted.
When the Times can get rewarded for publishing bad history—historians across the spectrum denounced the 1619 Project—there’s clearly something wrong.
But this is how leftists hollow out an organization. They gradually infiltrate their ranks until they have enough people to either destroy the organization or take it over.
The New York Times has been conquered.
