It was not a good day for White House press secretary Jen Psaki.
The daily press briefing went off the rails.
And Jen Psaki looked like a deer in headlights after Fox News hit with one reality.
As Great American Daily reports:
For the most part, the docile White House press corps acts more like the press agents for the Biden administration rather than skeptical observers asking hard questions to hold the powerful to account.
One exception is Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy.
During a recent briefing, Doocy pressed Jen Psaki on why detention facilities for illegal alien children were open, but the American children’s schools were closed.
Psaki tried to dodge the question by blaming the Trump administration despite the fact that the border surge occurred as soon as Joe Biden was declared the next President.
“We’re working to fix the mess of the last couple of years. It’s going to take some time,” Psaki began. “This is clearly a priority for the president. We are looking at a range of options, which include the opening of additional facilities. It includes steps we can take to expedite the processing. It includes application and implementation of CDC guidelines that just came that allow for more children to be housed safely in those communities.”
Psaki then falsely claimed that the CDC put out guidelines to open schools when in fact schools would have been forced to close if they followed the Biden administration’s school opening guidelines.
“The CDC guidelines as to be clear, as I think this is very important to be very clear and specific on. They gave eight mitigation steps that schools can take to safely reopen,” Psaki added.
Doocy pressed Psaki further comparing how the Border Patrol union was ready, willing and able to go to work in the pandemic as opposed to the teachers’ unions—one of the most powerful powerbrokers in the Democrat Party—who refuse to go back to work even if its members are vaccinated.
“But since they are not all back, from an administration position, or from your perspective, have the border patrol unions and the HHS unions been easier to work with than the teachers’ unions?” Doocy pressed further.
“I think that’s a little bit of mixing different circumstances,” Psaki weakly responded, to which Doocy shot back that both situations featured children in confined spaces.
Psaki melted down and began to laugh, to which Doocy responded that “it’s not funny” that American children are being kept out of school.
“Not quite, I would say that let — let’s take a responsible approach to the two issues,” Psaki responded.
Critics contend that Psaki’s press briefings are descending into farce as she never offers any useful information or answers tough questions.
Since Joe Biden is largely hidden away from the public and has yet to formally answer questions from the press Jen Psaki is the voice of the administration.
And that concerns many Americans because they view her performance as press secretary as disastrous.
