CNN has become nothing more than an anti-Trump network.
Their endless attacks on the President have grown more ridiculous with each passing day.
But one CNN host got destroyed for an insane thing he said about impeachment.
CNN is out to get Donald Trump.
This cannot even be disputed anymore.
Studies have shown that the network’s coverage of Trump is well over 90% negative, and the investigative journalist group, Project Veritas, uncovered a conference call where CNN boss Jeff Zucker instructed all his anchors to push anti-Trump stories in lieu of other news topics.
Two CNN reporters were even forced to resign after publishing literal fake news about a Trump associate.
Some CNN analysts ridiculously call Trump a danger because he has the nuclear codes, while foreign policy analysts like Samantha Vinograd call Trump a “coward” for not bombing Iran.
Whatever Trump does, they take the opposite position.
And CNN’s latest anti-Trump salvo comes in the form of the absurd impeachment inquiry against him.
CNN can’t even hide their glee.
Anchor Brian Stelter, who ironically hosts a show called “Reliable Sources,” laid out the Democrats’ plan for impeachment.
During a segment, he said:
“I also think, episode one so to speak, matters a lot, and I hate to say that because we’re talking about basic democracy at risk here. But from a television perspective, Democrats have to come out strong in that first episode.”
For Stelter and the rest of CNN, impeachment is simply theater.
In fact, the attorney for the whistleblower who sparked this sham inquiry said back in 2017 that “CNN would play a major role” in the coup attempt against Donald Trump.
Stelter continued, “For the same reason when we’re watching Netflix or listening to a new podcast, we only choose to keep listening if we’re interested in episode one.”
Stelter is playing his role as impresario for the greatest hoax on Earth.
However, Stelter got broadsided by someone he least expected.
Former CNN host Soledad O’Brien ripped Stelter on Twitter and said:
“Why is CNN so stupid about important s–t? This is Cillizza-level inanity. Brian should be ashamed of himself.”
She twisted the knife even further and said, “Maybe good reporting on the issue will drive people to watch. Because it’s important. It’s not a game show and you should stop treating it as such.”
In a humorous way, both Stelter and O’Brien are right.
Impeachment should be serious and important, but this process is not.
It’s a circus meant to be a spectacle on television, so Stelter is correct in that regard.
CNN is desperate for ratings as it perpetually trails far behind Fox News and MSNBC.
If they can’t successfully drum up interest in impeachment – and recent polls show the American people already aren’t terribly interested – then the news network will likely spiral even further.
The company has already experienced a string of layoffs because people just aren’t watching.
