MSNBC host Rachel Maddow has a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
She dedicates her show to raging at Donald Trump and Republicans.
But Maddow just got some devastating news about her ratings.
Rachel Maddow made a huge gamble and lost.
She went all-in on the Russian collusion hoax, arguing that Donald Trump was essentially a puppet of a foreign power.
Prior to special counsel Robert Mueller releasing his report – after a 22-month investigation that cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars – Maddow built up Mueller as a heroic figure that would uncover Trump’s ties to Russia.
Maddow drew in viewers with her nightly conspiracy theories; she once speculated that Russian President Vladimir Putin could shut down the U.S. power grid during a cold snap.
But the Russia hoax crumbled, and so did Maddow’s ratings.
The audience she built up with her deranged theories abandoned ship.
And while Maddow commonly falls behind Fox News’s primetime news hosts, Maddow has fallen behind another Fox News program in the ratings.
Maddow has been overtaken by Fox News’s “The Five” according to the latest numbers.
For the first week of January, Maddow averaged slightly over 2.5 million viewers with 403,000 of them in the key 25-54 age demographic.
Meanwhile “The Five” averaged 2.7 million viewers, and averaged 407,000 in the critical 25-54 demographic.
In fact, “The Five” has outpaced Maddow in ratings for the past six weeks.
Maddow’s decline is more indicative of big media’s problem in general.
She risked her credibility on Russiagate, which was an obvious witch hunt to anyone paying attention.
But Maddow is so deranged, she chose to sell that lie every night.
Maddow nearly shed a tear when Mueller’s report bore no fruit, and he looked confused and out of sorts during his congressional testimony.
Americans are beginning to realize that the so-called mainstream media is nothing more than a Democrat hate-machine aimed at Republicans.
Most of the left-leaning outlets have dropped the façade of objectivity and have sacrificed their credibility instead.
But Maddow hasn’t learned from her mistakes.
She’s tripled down on the Trump smear campaign.
Maddow recently had on disgraced FBI lawyer Lisa Page to spread propaganda regarding her role in the Russiagate hoax.
Page had traded texts with FBI special agent Peter Strzok, whom she was having an affair with , that discussed how they could “stop” Trump.
Maddow didn’t ask Page a single challenging question.
Maddow’s coverage of Russiagate was so bad, she was even called out by the Washington Post.
Left-wing journalist Erik Wemple slammed Maddow for presenting the bogus Christopher Steele dossier as gospel.
The report from Department of Justice special investigator Michael Horowitz proved the dossier was fraudulent, but Maddow offered no mea culpa for her irresponsible coverage.
While Maddow may not be showing any contrition, she’s clearly paying for it in the ratings game.
