Robert Mueller’s two-year-long rigged witch hunt against President Trump ended in dismal failure.
But that doesn’t mean the American people stopped learning the ugly truth about Mueller’s crusade to bring down Donald Trump.
And Robert Mueller did something to Fox News that you won’t believe.
Republican Congresswoman Debbie Lesko of Washington state questioned Mueller on an aspect of his investigation that did not attract much initial attention.
Lesko pressed former special counsel Mueller on how his team used media sources to back up the claims made in the report.
The Washington Republican noted that Mueller used media reports – and not witness testimony or documents – as evidence.
“Mr. Mueller, rather than purely relying on the evidence provided by witnesses and documents, I think you relied a lot on media,” Congresswoman Lesko stated.
In one exchange that helped demonstrate how Robert Mueller was not in command of his faculties, Lesko had to inform Mueller how many times his report cited the New York Times, Washington Post, and Fox News because Mueller had no idea what was in his own report.
Lesko noted that Mueller cited the New York Times 75 times, the Post 60 times, and Fox News just 25 times.
The Republican Congresswoman wondered why Mueller took two years and spent nearly 30 million dollars on a report that was just recycled fake news stories.
“I’ve got to say it looks like Volume 2 is mostly regurgitated press stories,” Representative Lesko declared.
“Honestly, there’s almost nothing in Volume 2 that I couldn’t already [know] simply by having a $50 cable news subscription. However, your investigation cost the American taxpayers $25 million.”
To make matters worse, Lesko then revealed the ugly truth about Mueller’s press citations.
Lesko noted that while Mueller used over 200 news articles in the report, only a tiny footnote stated that these stories weren’t used for any truth in them, but used because they described President Trump’s reaction to events.
“Mr. Mueller, you cited media reports nearly 200 times in your report. Then in a footnote, a small footnote, number seven, page 15 of Volume 2 of your report, you wrote, I quote, ‘This section summarizes and cites various news stories not for the truth of the information contained in the stories, but rather to place candidate Trump’s response to those stories in context.’ Since nobody but lawyers reads footnotes, are you concerned that the American public took the embedded news stories at face value?” Congresswoman Lesko asked Mueller.
Mueller cited the New York Times and Washington Post 135 times out of nearly 200 press citations because those outlets were where the Obama Deep State would plant fake news to frame the President for collusion with the Russians.
Mueller even cited a Times story reporting the baseless conspiracy theory that Trump campaign aides were picked up on intercepted communications speaking to figures with known ties to Russian intelligence.
That story was obviously false because even Mueller admitted there was no criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia.
But in one of the most dishonest acts of this entire sorry affair, Mueller tried to fool people into thinking the fake news stories were actual evidence by including them in his report.
That’s why when Mueller chose to cite news sources, he did not use Fox News – because the network largely refused to bite on the Russian collusion hoax.
