The so-called mainstream media’s coverage of the Wuhan coronavirus has been shameful.
The pandemic has been used by Democrats to smear their political opponents.
Now one shocking coronavirus report shows that Democrats owe one Republican a big apology.
Hard facts about the Wuhan coronavirus have been difficult to collect.
Part of the reason why is because China has not been honest about the outbreak.
The Communist Party of China was slow to act when the virus began to spread and lied about how it’s transmitted.
And now journalists are finally starting to question another aspect of the coronavirus.
The alleged origin of the virus was a wet market in Wuhan, China, where unsanitary conditions led to a bat transferring the virus to a wild animal, such as a pangolin, that was subsequently sold.
However, there’s evidence to suggest that the coronavirus might’ve originated in the country’s sole level-four biohazard lab located across the street from the wet market.
Senator Tom Cotton was one of the first politicians to sound the alarm on the coronavirus and raise the possibility that the virus—intentionally or unintentionally—was released from the lab.
For that, the Republican from Arkansas was castigated by several left-wing media outlets.
The Washington Post wrote, “Tom Cotton keeps repeating a coronavirus conspiracy theory that was already debunked.”
The New York Times and many other liberal sites wrote similar stories.
But now the left is beginning to come around to the lab malfeasance theory.
The Washington Post, the same rag that labeled Cotton a conspiracy theorist, wrote, “Scientists don’t rule out that an accident at a research laboratory in Wuhan might have spread a deadly bat virus that had been collected for scientific study.”
The Post’s story is vindication for Cotton, but, of course, none of the left-wing outlets retracted their stories or issued Cotton an apology.
This is precisely why trust in the media is cratering.
They continue to behave like the “enemy of the American people.”
The same outlets who said the coronavirus was less deadly than the flu and that it was perfectly safe to congregate in large gatherings are now trying to smear everyone on the right as being complicit in the spread of the virus.
Liberals are notorious for projection. And as more information emerges about the potential laboratory failures in Wuhan, big media will cover the story and pat themselves on the back for being the “first” to do so.
Cotton deserves an apology, but he’ll never get one.
