The so-called mainstream media has destroyed their credibility during the Wuhan virus.
What little shred of dignity they had left was extinguished when they decided to politicize the pandemic.
Now the Washington Post decided to double down with an insane propaganda piece about the virus.
The corporate press is invested in blaming Donald Trump for everything that goes wrong in the world, even global pandemics.
The Wuhan virus quickly became Trump’s fault even though it rampaged across the globe.
Now the Washington Post ran a ridiculous propaganda piece in an attempt to hammer the United States and absolve China of blame.
The story is all about how a man from Wuhan caught the virus in Florida, which is run by Republican governor Ron DeSantis, whom the Democrats are criticizing for his state’s handling of the virus.
Of course, unlike Andrew Cuomo, DeSantis actually protected the elderly population of his state by isolating nursing home patients from people who tested positive for the virus.
Nevertheless, the Post wrote:
“When I told my family in Wuhan, they were in disbelief. In six months, it feels like China and the United States have swapped places: Wuhan, where it all started, has reported zero cases and found just 300 asymptomatic carriers since late May, while some U.S. states are seeing thousands of new cases daily. On Sunday, Florida set a single-day record in the United States, with more than 15,000 cases.”
This is laughable considering the Chinese Communist Party has been submitting bogus coronavirus numbers for months with stories of funeral homes incinerating dead bodies around the clock.
Meanwhile, the U.S. is testing at a high rate while experiencing a decline in mortality rate.
The average patient who contracts the virus has roughly a 99.8% chance of surviving, and most will be asymptomatic.
The Post continued:
“My mother is baffled by the U.S. pandemic response: ‘Americans just won’t listen,’ she would tell me with frustration. She is used to seeing Chinese authorities aggressively stomp out every flare-up of the virus.”
Authorities in China were literally welding citizens inside their homes against their will.
China also lied repeatedly about the virus and didn’t alert the rest of the world to the truth.
The Post also said:
“In the United States, it’s mostly up to individuals to decide how they want to cope with the pandemic, but China acts more like an enormous machine, allocating resources and manpower to each challenge. It’s the difference between collectivism and individualism: China is battling one pandemic, whereas each American state, community and person is fighting their own.”
This is actually true because the left advocates for authoritarian collectivism, so the idea of big daddy government stamping out people’s rights doesn’t seem to bother them.
The Washington Post piece was propaganda pure and simple, which shouldn’t come as a surprise after the so-called mainstream media adopted China’s line about not calling the pandemic the “Wuhan virus.”
Also, the Washington Post takes money from China, so their credibility on the issue is shaky at best:
I know there’s no connection between this op-ed and WaPo taking $4.6 million from Chinese foreign agent China Daily for paid advertorials….but WaPo took $4.6 million from China Daily for paid advertorials. https://t.co/gmCVLrakcf
