The Democrats are doing everything in their power to stop Donald Trump.
They’ve even resorted to propping up Michael Bloomberg as their savior.
But CNN is furious over the one thing that Bloomberg is doing.
There’s a civil war going on inside the Democrat Party.
The fading moderate wing of the party is trying to beat back the socialist insurgency that’s taking over.
The Democrats can’t decide if they want to run a moderate against Trump, or a wild-eyed socialist to activate the radicals and get the indoctrinated youth vote to the polls.
But former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is complicating the Democrat primary even further.
Bloomberg, who ran for mayor as a Republican, is worth over $60 billion, and he’s already said he’ll spare no expense to win the presidency and defeat Trump in November.
This has infuriated the socialist wing of the party that despises rich people.
They also hate the fact that he was a Republican.
But not even the dwindling moderate wing of the party is uncomfortable with Bloomberg blatantly trying to buy his way into the White House.
CNN analyst Joe Lockhart even asked the question, “Are Dems so worried by Trump they’re willing to let Bloomberg buy the election?”
This is the crisis they find themselves in.
Bloomberg represents everything the modern left claims to hate.
He’s a multi-billionaire, he was a Republican mayor who kept a lot of Rudy Giuliani’s effective police policies in place, and he’s made several statements degrading to women and minorities.
The same liberals who say they want money out of politics are lining up for Bloomberg’s sweet, sweet cash.
Failed progressive gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams endorsed Bloomberg after he contributed $5 million to her PAC.
Bloomberg is pouring an endless amount of money into advertising, and paying double and triple what other campaigns are paying for staffers.
Bloomberg is trying to buy loyalty in a way that the left claims they hate.
But apparently they hate Donald Trump more.
Writing for CNN, Lockhart went on to say, “His comments on income inequality, which were attacked this week by Warren, run counter to several key Democratic messages. And his massive wealth and willingness to spend unlimited amounts run against the party’s instinct to limit the amount of money in politics.”
All of this is true, but Lockhart pointed out that the Democrats are willing to overlook this since they want Trump gone.
Bloomberg might also get some progressive support because he’s pumped money into climate change initiatives, and he’s a radical on the issue of gun control.
Bloomberg has spent millions around the country on gun control activism, and believes citizens should be disarmed.
Bloomberg’s radicalism on guns and billions of dollars to burn might be enough for him to buy the Democrat nomination.
Regardless of what happens, the Democrats have a serious identity crisis that isn’t close to being resolved.
