The murder of George Floyd ignited a powder keg across the country.
His death has cynically been used to justify all kinds of violent acts in major American cities.
But one magazine made an unbelievable comparison for George Floyd.
The Jesuits have always been a controversial order within the Catholic church.
Many Jesuits, including Pope Francis, are devotees of liberation theology: a mixture of Christianity and socialism.
Leftists have tried to claim that the tenets of Christianity are compatible with socialism, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Socialism is about coercion and the seizure of property.
There’s nothing Christian about that.
The left likes to point to Pope Francis when he praises open borders and environmentalism, but ignores him when he expresses staunch pro-life views.
But the Jesuit magazine “America” wrote a jaw-dropping piece that compared George Floyd to Jesus Christ.
The article reads:
“Jesus was laid on the ground to be nailed to the cross. George Floyd was laid face down on the ground and pinned by Derek Chauvin’s knee on his neck (along with the helping hands and knees of other officers). As time passed, Jesus suffered from thirst; George Floyd asked for water.
Both Jesus and George Floyd were repeatedly mocked by their killers. Jesus cried out to his father, and George Floyd called for his mother.”
The ridiculous comparisons end there because nowhere in the Bible did Jesus commit a break-in robbery and put a gun to a pregnant woman’s belly.
Floyd’s death was heinous and infuriating and the officer should be punished for what he did, but the beatification of Floyd needs to stop.
Floyd was not a saint and attempting to paint him as one is simply a ploy by the left to justify all of the mayhem that has succeeded his death.
Support for Black Lives Matter, an openly Marxist organization, soared after Floyd’s death, but it has since waned as violence and destruction have ensued for two months.
At least two dozen people have lost their lives as a result of the rioting and looting that has taken place across the nation.
Multiple people were murdered in Seattle when communists seized six downtown city blocks and designed the area the CHOP (Capitol Hill Organized Protest) in homage to the guillotine of the French Revolution.
An eight-year-old girl was murdered in Atlanta by BLM extremists when her mother accidentally pulled into an “occupied” parking lot.
And Portland has become the epicenter of the violence; activists and domestic terrorists have rioted for close to 60 days.
Donald Trump finally sent in federal agents to protect a federal courthouse that is under siege nightly from Antifa terrorists and BLM extremists.
The Democrats in control of these cities absolutely refuse to quell the violence by arresting these criminals.
George Floyd was not a saint, but he certainly deserves better than this as a legacy.
