The Democrats just wasted the American people’s time with another sham impeachment.
As was expected, Donald Trump was acquitted in the Senate.
And Trump’s lawyer sent Democrats running for the hills over impeachment.
In light of the horrific Capitol Hill riot on January 6th, Democrats screamed that Donald Trump incited an insurrection and all Republicans were culpable.
That was the pretext for booting Trump from every major social media platform.
Then the Democrats—along with a handful of RINOs—moved full speed ahead to impeach Trump.
But their accusations of incitement never had a leg to stand on.
If Trump was guilty of incitement, that means Bernie Sanders would’ve been guilty of inciting the shooting at the congressional softball game – and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and members of “the squad” would’ve been guilty of inciting the attack on an ICE facility in Tacoma, Washington.
After Trump was acquitted, his lawyer Michael van der Veen appeared on CBS News with Lana Zak and tore into the Democrats and the so-called mainstream media.
During the impeachment hearing, Congressman Eric Swalwell presented a doctored tweet to bolster their claims of incitement.
I’ve never been verified on Twitter so why did my Tweet used in the fact-free impeachment include a verification badge? I’m assuming Democrats faked it like they are faking the whole case. @RepSwalwell why did you add a verified badge to my tweet in your presentation? pic.twitter.com/9Ww0TLveNA

Van der Veen called out the Democrats for doctoring the evidence. But Zak tried to downplay the changes as trivial:
ZAK: To be clear for our viewers, what you’re talking about now is a checkmark that’s a verification on Twitter that did not exist on that particular tweet, a 2020 that should have actually read 2021, and the selective editing, you say, of the tapes. Is that how — is that the doctored evidence of what you’re speaking?
Van der Veen fired back:
VAN DER VEEN: It’s not okay to doctor a little bit of evidence. The media has to start telling the right story in this country. The media is trying to divide this country. You are bloodthirsty for ratings, and as such, you’re asking questions now that are already set up with a fact pattern. I can’t believe you would ask me a question indicating that it’s alright just to doctor a little bit of evidence. There’s more stuff we uncovered that they doctored, to be frank with you, and maybe that will come out someday.
In addition to doctoring the tweet, Swalwell said that the Twitter user was bringing the “cavalry,” when actually, the tweet specifically said “Calvary,” as in the crucifixion of Jesus. The group literally brought a cross to the rally.
Van der Veen is completely right to unload on CBS and the media.
They were terrible during Trump’s term, and they continue to be terrible.
