Fears persist around the devastating Wuhan coronavirus.
The fallout from the pandemic has triggered a massive response from the federal government.
And Democrats are deeply worried about one coronavirus poll.
Despite the fact America is in the throes of the worst public health crisis the country has ever seen, there are still political realities at play.
The Democrats don’t hate Donald Trump any less and their main focus is to see him ousted from the White House in November.
But one poll has them concerned about that.
CBS spent only a flash of their news coverage on a poll that showed 53% of Americans agreed with Trump’s handling of the coronavirus.
Worse yet for Democrats, slightly more Americans trust Trump than the so-called mainstream media.
This is bad news for the Democrats. They rely on being able to shape the narrative with the powerful apparatus of the corporate press – but it’s not working.
Despite stories of how Trump is criminally negligent for his response to the coronavirus or how he’s responsible for people drinking fish tank cleaner to fight the pandemic, Trump is above water with the American people.
Democrats and independents are slowly peeling away from the left as big media gets exposed for their bias and disturbing lack of patriotism in the face of this crisis.
One would think the Democrats would learn some lessons over the past four years, but they have not. They just double-down on the same strategies.
Trump saw an approval rating uptick after the Russiagate hoax imploded.
The same thing happened when the sham impeachment of Trump failed.
And it’s happening again as the corporate press is working overtime to fear-monger over the coronavirus.
Their chief goal doesn’t seem to be providing information or optimism when it’s warranted – they’re too concerned about making sure nobody calls the pandemic the “Wuhan coronavirus.”
The latest tactic is to slam Trump as a heartless monster who wants to reopen the economy simply for profit.
But the Democrats don’t seem to understand the gravity of how bad a prolonged depression would be.
It would wreck countless lives, those with small business, and employees at companies both big and small.
Printing money and forgiving debt isn’t a long-term solution to fix the economy.
If it were, every socialist country wouldn’t be a dictatorial hellscape.
There are economic realities that must be considered, and many who are furloughed would agree.
The latest tack of hammering Trump for discussing the economy doesn’t seem to be working, either, because people are tuning into his press briefings in record numbers.
For a fleeting moment, members of the press praised Trump for his leadership amid the pandemic.
But they’ve quickly entrenched back into their nonstop attack mode.
It’s bad for the country and bad for the media’s reputation.
That’s why Trump’s favorability is climbing, and faith in the press is dwindling.
