Fox News Channel continues a troubling change in programming.
Not everyone is happy.
In fact, everyone’s worst fears were realized when this Fox News host dropped one shocking bombshell about Republicans impeaching Trump.
“Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace had acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney on for an interview.
Mulvaney appeared on the program after the fake and corrupt news media twisted his words in a White House press briefing.
The media falsely claimed that Mulvaney had confessed to the President ordering a quid pro quo involving Ukraine investigating a rumor about the hacked Democrat National Committee server from the 2016 election.
This manufactured scandal now sits at the heart of the Democrats attempted coup against President Trump.
During Wallace’s interview with Mulvaney, Wallace blindsided the acting Chief of Staff by claiming that a high-profile “Republican” told him there was a chance Senate Republicans would vote with the Democrats to remove Donald Trump from office on Nancy Pelosi’s articles of impeachment.
“I talked to a very well-connected Republican in Washington this week, someone whose name you would know well, who says that if the House votes to impeach and it gets to a trial in the Senate, there’s now a 20 percent chance, he believes —obviously that just an estimate — now a 20% chance enough Republicans would vote with Democrats to impeach the president,” Wallace informed a shocked Mulvaney.
Mulvaney called such speculation ridiculous and claimed this unnamed source had no idea what they were talking about.
Other real journalists immediately picked up on the game Wallace was playing and did not like what they saw.
Greta Van Susteren – former anchor for Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC – ripped Wallace for using anonymous sources to continue a smear campaign against the President of the United States.
“Chris Wallace should know better than to use anonymous “well connected Republican” – he should name names or not say this at all as without the identity (what is a ‘welll connected??’) its purpose is merely to smear and cause trouble – name names or don’t say this at all,” Van Susteren tweeted.
The Trump era has seen an explosion of articles and cable news reports attributed entirely to unnamed sources.
Sometimes sources do need to have journalists protect their identity.
But an anonymous Republican saying there is a chance Republican Senators could vote to convict Trump on articles of impeachment does not rise to that level.
Without knowing who is feeding Wallace this information, viewers had no way to evaluate its accuracy.
Wallace could have made the entire conversation up.
Many Americans agree with Van Susteren that Wallace was doing nothing more than engaging in political character assassination.
Fox News viewers expect this from fake and corrupt media members of CNN or MSNBC.
However Wallace always positions himself as a “real” journalist.
Ambushing Mulvaney with phony unnamed sources reduces Wallace to the same level of fake news in the minds of many Fox News viewers.
Liberal Propaganda Exposed will continue to cover Fox News Channel’s leftward drift during the impeachment witch hunt.
