“The failing New York Times” is indeed failing.
Of all of Donald Trump’s apt monikers, that one might be the most accurate.
And now the New York Times was exposed for blatant hypocrisy with yet another embarrassing story.
The Gray Lady is no longer the paper of record.
In fact, it’s no longer a newspaper at all.
The New York Times is now just a left-wing smear machine.
In the aftermath of the despicable El Paso shooting, Donald Trump condemned the shooter and all forms of hatred.
The Times published the front page headline: “Trump Urges Unity Vs. Racism.”
That headline wasn’t the unfiltered anti-Trump hatred the paper’s liberal readership had come to expect, so they raised Cain.
The Times bent their knee to the mob and amended the headline to, “Assailing Hate, But Not Guns.”
Now the Times is very upset that their journalists are being held accountable for things they’ve said in the past on social media.
Two Times reporters wrote a piece rebuking conservatives who were targeting liberal media personalities by unearthing old tweets.
The Times said it was an escalation in Donald Trump’s “war” on the free press.
And yet, Trump has neither spied on nor imprisoned any journalists, unlike Barack Obama.
The Times believes this conservative tactic of digging up racist tweets—such as those from newly hired tech editorial writer Sarah Jeong who had several posts making vile comments about white people—is out of bounds…except when the left does it.
Liberal journalists have been engaging in these smear tactics for years.
The hatchet-job outlet, Media Matters, even turned it into an industry.
The George Soros-backed group exists to trawl through conservative TV shows, websites, and podcasts in search of any statement they can take out of context to target the host’s advertisers.
When the Times tried to explain why it’s okay that Media Matters does this, they said the left only goes after public figures and people in positions of power.
But this is a disgusting lie.
CNN threatened to doxx the private citizen who created the humorous gif of Trump body-slamming the CNN logo.
The Daily Beast revealed the identity of a black day laborer in New York who posted on Facebook a video of Nancy Pelosi appearing drunk.
In 2008, gay activists went after hourly workers who donated to the Proposition 8 campaign, a ban on gay marriage in California, and got them fired.
Also in 2008, the media destroyed Joe the Plumber for simply asking Barack Obama a question about small businesses on the campaign trail.
The examples of the left going after both public and private figures are endless.
The Times’s crocodile tears were even mocked by members of the left.
CNN, the Washington Post, and even far-left outlets laughed at the Times for their crying.
If liberals don’t want years-old tweets resurfacing and destroying someone’s reputation, they should lower their proverbial guns and stop shooting at conservatives.
