The media’s anti-Trump conspiracy theories about Donald Trump colluding with the Russians came crashing down when special counsel Robert Mueller submitted his report.
Mueller cleared Donald Trump and revealed that there was no evidence of collusion.
And then NBC’s biggest star was forced to go on the air and issue the one correction no one ever thought they would hear.
For two years, NBC and MSNBC dove head first into the fever swamps of the Russian collusion hoax.
There was not an allegation too outrageous for NBC news to put on the air.
MSNBC host Chris Hayes even granted a softball interview to lunatic New York Times Magazine author Jonathan Chait to discuss his conspiracy theory about Donald Trump being a Russian intelligence asset since the late 1980s.
Rachel Maddow turned her show into a convention for tin foil hat wearing Trump haters where she fabricated Trump-Russia conspiracy claims out of whole cloth.
That all came to an end when Robert Mueller showed his cards.
And it turned out he had nothing.
His report categorically stated his team turned up no evidence of collusion.
That was despite the best efforts of an all-star team of Democrat prosecutors that took the most expansive definition of coordination they could.
NBC was forced to eat crow.
Left-wing former NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw admitted on “Morning Joe” that the Mueller report was a “big victory” for Donald Trump.
“[A]s I was listening this morning and watching all the headlines, as well, I was thinking about people in Nebraska, for example, who are going through a terrible natural ordeal,” Brokaw said. “The ground is frozen, and it’s flooded, and they’re trying to figure out what they’re going to do. As they look at the national news, they’re going to see one headline: ‘No Collusion.’ And they’re going to say, ‘OK, move on.’ So, I think there’s a huge difference between then and now. And this is a big victory for Donald Trump in terms of public perception about what we should expect between then and now.”
NBC National Security “reporter” Ken Dilanian – who critics allege works with anti-Trump smear outfit Fusion GPS – went on TV and called the report “vindication” for the President.
NBC’s conspiracy mongering was one reason journalist Matt Taibbi called the Russia hoax the greatest media failure since the press got the story about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq wrong.
Fake news reporters didn’t buy in to the Russia hoax because they thought it was a good story that raised important questions that needed be answered.
So-called “journalists” published over 500,000 articles about Trump and Russia because “reporters” will print anything Democrats tell them as a statement of fact.
The whole Russian collusion lie was built out of the Hillary Clinton campaign.
It originated in the fake news dossier and then the Clintons used it as the excuse for why Hillary lost.
“Reporters” went along for the ride because a)they always want to take down a Republican President so they can be the next Woodward and Bernstein and b)never questioned her story because reporters never question the assumption or statements of their ideological allies.
