One major Democrat is facing a career-ending crisis.
And not even their allies in the so-called “mainstream” media can save them.
That’s because the cover up on a massive Democrat scandal is collapsing for this strange reason.
Baltimore mayor Catherine Pugh is in hot water.
The embattled mayor has been getting pressure to resign amid allegations of rampant corruption, including a $700,000 book deal that was mostly paid for with public resources that she used her position to secure.
FBI and IRS agents raided her home, as well as the home of a former aide.
However, if you follow the liberal media, you probably haven’t heard much about it.
ABC World News Tonight barely discussed the story, and CBS Evening News didn’t cover it at all.
ABC also failed to mention that Pugh is a Democrat.
This is a common tactic among the left.
If they cover malfeasance among Democrats, they’ll bury the person’s political affiliation deep within the article.
The left did this with New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez.
The Democrat was embroiled in a corruption scandal, and purportedly had sexual liaisons with underage girls in the Dominican Republic (although they were above the age of consent in that jurisdiction).
There was hardly a peep about Menendez’s salacious scandal.
A major New Jersey newspaper even told state residents to begrudgingly vote for Menendez, because an allegedly corrupt senator mixed up in a sex scandal is still better than a Republican.
Pugh is getting the same type of treatment.
Sadly, she’s not unique in her city.
Her predecessor, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, had a shaky mayoral career, as she led the city during the Freddie Gray riots.
Rawlings-Blake angered people on both sides of the argument when she of rioters, “We also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well,” then backtracked and called the rioters “thugs.”
She was harshly criticized for responding slowly to the riots, and finally declared a state of emergency.
Also, Sheila Dixon, Rawlings-Blake’s predecessor, was convicted of embezzlement.
So Pugh is following in the footsteps of bad city leadership.
But the media is doing a poor job of holding her accountable.
Instead of covering real news like this, the liberal media have been busy parsing every last one of Donald Trump’s tweets, or patting themselves on the back for their comically bad coverage of the Russian collusion hoax.
For two years, networks like MSNBC told the American people that Donald Trump was a Russian spy.
Then the Mueller report blew up in their faces and showed Trump didn’t collude.
Instead of admitting their defeat they shamelessly switched the narrative to obstruction of justice, even though that wasn’t proven, either, and there was no underlying crime to speak of.
The sheer arrogance to run a victory lap after being diametrically opposite to the truth is astonishing.
But this is the media the American people are being subjected to.
This is the media that create hoax scandals, and don’t report the ones such as the Pugh scandal in Baltimore.
